Sexual health refers to the many factors that impact sexual function and reproduction. These include a variety of physical, emotional and mental factors. Sexual health disorders can impact a person’s self-image and relationships. Sexual health also means understanding your body and how it works. People who understand their bodies can make better choices about the sexual activities that they enjoy.

  • Painful intercourse
  • Infertility problem
  • Reproductive system disorders

Physical factors like diabetes, obesity and chronic medical condition can affect sexual health, psychological factors like anxiety, depression and low self esteem can also have negative effect on your sexual health.

An open discussion on sexual health problems is important for promoting sexual health awareness. Knowledge of our own and our partner’s body, exchanging experiences and desires, leads to better mutual understanding. Since sexual health problem is often linked to depression or underlying diseases, it may help to see a healthcare profession before it becomes a serious problem.
