Know about Swine Flu

Recently developed swine flu has created a fear among the people all over the world. Swine flu is a virus which infects the pigs. It is a Type A influenza virus. Very rare cases of people affected by swine flu had been reported before this epidemic.

What are its symptoms?

The symptoms of swine flu are similar to those of the regular flu. They include sudden high fever, head ache, body ache, runny nose, sore throat and fatigue. However reports have shown that few people also suffer from vomiting and diarrhea.

Precautions:

During such epidemics people should take certain precautions. Covering mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze is essential in order to prevent the virus from spreading. One must always wash hands after sneezing. If you experience any symptoms of flu, you must prefer staying back home. These measures would indeed help in preventing the flu from spreading.

Swine flu has originated in Mexico and has spread to several parts of the world. A large number of people have been affected in US and Mexico. It has also resulted in death in certain cases. Measures are been taken to control this dangerous epidemic.
